DODGEBALL CHARIOT

Shown is a gallery of the design flow leading up to the current prototype of the sketch model challenge entry. The gallery starts with a late brainstorm for final design stages, followed by dimensioning and calculations which lead to building and middle tweaking and testing stages.

The functional requirements are as follows:

1. The vehicle has to survive 6 rounds of play

2. Weight of the vehicle cannot exceed 20% of the lightest rider's weight

3. Non-paper or non-foam may not comprise of more than 10% of overall weight

4. Vehicle must be able to support a 220lb. rider for entire game

5. Drivers must be able to push the loaded cart up to 8MPH in under 6 seconds.

6. Direction changes from 8MPH to 0 to 8MPH backwards must take place in less than 12 seconds.

7. Vehicle may possess a turning radius of no more than 1 meter.

8. Full turns (180 degrees) should have a duration of no more than 2 seconds.

9. The Rider must be able to effectively pick up the ball during play; the wheel diameter must not be less than 15" and nominal ground clearance from free stand to play must not exceed 12".
